Yokohama is located just south of Tokyo and is the second largest city in Japan falling just short of Tokyo itself. Its name literally means “horizontal beach”. It is named this because of its high rise structures and city scape that spans the waterfront. Yokohama is one very big tourist hot spot and particularly popular with business men and women from all over the world due to the city having a large business infrastructure. It stands to reason then that there is lots of spots in the city that would appeal to the travelling business woman or a sight seeing tourist. So, here today we are going to share with you five little gems in the form of foreigner-friendly nail salons that give you the best in Yokohama’s nail art and salon culture.
First up we have the amazing Aqua/Rise. As the name would suggest Aqua/Rise has a brilliant image of light and fresh nail art. They produce amazing and bright colours mixed with different colored sequins. There is also their amazing work combining natural colored nails with amazing blue tips that you can see from the second image below. This is an elegant way of showing some brilliant and high end nail fashion.
Depending on your nail painting requirements you could be looking at a high price of fifteen thousand Japanese Yen which roughly translates to one hundred and thirty six United States Dollars. This of course is the highest point of the nail painting spectrum and is for the most fancy and artistic of nail art. From that price it reduces rapidly to where you may even be able to get simple colours painted on your nails for a very reasonable price.

Next up we have vita. Vita has amazing use of soft pastel colours such as the light blues and pinks you can see in the first image below. They team that up with awesome floral work that is then covered with clear varnish to give you that ultimate long lasting fashionable look. One thing that may be surprising to some people in the west is the second image from vita. Vita has exquisite and intricate Christmas themed nail painting for all your seasonal needs. Christmas, despite what you may think, is pretty big in Japan but unlike Christian countries in Japan it is seen as festive celebration as opposed to a religious one. So, rest assured that if you are in Japan over the Christmas/holiday period you can get your nails done festively at the brilliant vita.

Next up we have the awesomely named i-nail★quick. i-nail★quick as you may have guessed from their rather descriptive name is perfect for those of you who would love some acrylic nails done speedily. You can chose from a whole buch of different designs and styles in an amazing traditional Japanese nail salon. It makes for a nice and comfortable environment to get your nails painted in acrylic add ons as opposed to getting your own finger or toe nails painted from scratch by hand. Painitng from scratch by hand on your own nails can take a long time and cost a lot of money. So this place is really popular.

Second to last we have the brilliant FAST NAIL. FAST NAIL, like i-nail★quick, is one that prides itself on the simplicity and speediness of applying acrylic nails. As you can see from the images below there are varying designs to chose from that range from the amazing rainbow like nails in the first image to the amazing mix of designs in the second image. The great thing about places like FAST NAIL and i-nail★quick is that other than the convenience of it being speedy is often one of the cheaper nail art options for many people. Places like this are often quite popular with students. Not only students but fashion forward young women often use places like this to experiment with their nail painting. Some even match their nail art to certain types of clothing much like models do.

Last but by no means least is Shell NAIL. Shell NAIL does beautifully themed sets of toe nail acrylics that centre on the big toe as the main focal point. You have the beach like colours and shades and the smiley face and sequins in the first image below to give you just some of an idea on what they do. They are also amazing at creating beautiful finger nail art that uses bold soft matt colours teamed with amazing designs. The designs range from hearts and floral work to simple bold colours with implants added. They have an amazing range which you will find almost impossible not to be in awe with. And the brilliant thing about this spot is that it is open from ten AM in the morning until nine PM at night. So, convenience is not an issue with Shell Nail at all.
